Description
Planting:
Methi can be grown in the ground or in containers. Select a location that receives at least 4-6 hours of sunlight per day. If planting in the ground, prepare the soil by loosening it to a depth of about 6 inches. Remove any debris, rocks, or weeds. If planting in a pot, choose a container that is at least 6 inches deep and has drainage holes. Fill it with a well-draining potting mix.
Germination:
Fenugreek seeds typically germinate within 3 to 7 days under optimal conditions. During this time, you’ll see small green seedlings emerging from the soil.
Harvesting:
For slightly larger and more mature leaves suitable for cooking, you can typically start harvesting young methi leaves within 3 to 4 weeks after sowing. These leaves are tender and have a milder flavor.
